Welcome to Timbuktu- the Book Section!

Hello afro-optimists!

So I thought it would be enriching to also have a book section in our communal space, since books are experiences of their own that have that unique ability to connect us with each other’s reality and get our most profound thoughts and emotions to the surface.

What do you all think?

Here we go for book # 1, chosen for reasons obvious to all those who’ve read it:

HALF OF A YELLOW SUN (by our Nigerian sister: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie)

Timbuktu was once the shining beacon of African scholarship and spirituality. For centuries, books were therein written, reproduced and sold, and intellectual life flourished. This space bears the name of this illustrious city and it is a space to share your African books, new and interesting writers, reviews, recommendations and thoughts! Let the African intellect flourish once again!
